Immortelle

One barrel in the Roussillon, and a range that grew from it.

Our own first wine: a red from the Agly Valley that grew into a small range — and set the approach behind everything we have made since.

The brief

Make a wine of real character from old vines in the Roussillon — and give it an identity as distinctive as the place it comes from.

Our approach

In 2015, Liam Steevenson MW made his first barrel of wine in the Roussillon. The wine became Immortelle, named after the small yellow flower that grows among the region’s old vines.

From the Agly Valley, Immortelle grew into a small range: Immortelle Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Petite Immortelle and an Immortelle Rivesaltes Grenat.

The identity takes its cue from the flower itself. Each label carries finely drawn botanical illustrations of the immortelle; Petite Immortelle adds a band of yellow and a matching capsule, while the Rivesaltes Grenat turns the same drawing white on black. The detail carries through to the closure — natural, FSC-certified corks fire-branded with the Immortelle name.
