SPOKE ‘Brink’

Sauvignon Semillon

Marlborough, New Zealand

When we heard that Marlborough’s oldest organic vineyard was about to be grubbed-up, we stepped in. The handpicked fruit has proven to be a dream to work with. In total, two tonnes of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon were handpicked, whole bunch pressed and co-fermented together. Two hectares of historic Marlborough vines, brough back from the ‘brink’. The fruit underwent partial skin contact before being run-off into old French barriques and one new French puncheon for finishing.

Medium Lemon

Tasting Notes
“Medium-bodied with juicy texture and aromas of beeswax, pears, green apples and cooking spices. Bright apple and citrus wash over the palate.” 91 Points, James Suckling.

“Like a top quality white Bordeaux with the volume know turned up.” 92 Points, Jamie Goode.

“Takes a well-known model in places like Graves and Margaret River, and turns it into a graceful, beautifully upholstered, organically-grown Grand Vin with stellar presence and unrivalled finesse.” Matthew Jukes.

"We brought this vineyard back from the 'brink'. Marlborough's oldest organic vineyard was hanging on. We rescued it, listened to its voice and with some adventurous winemaking, amplified it. From arguably the region's most unique vineyard, this wine has a true sense of place."
